Plus, the guys at the rental company said the welds crack and cause more leakage issues. The 50 mil ammo cans with a simple riser on top and seat setup work best. They seal up when full and there is no venting to worry about. Just my humble opinion. "Your shit is my business"
The key to keeping the smell down is to have a pee bucket with a seat next to the groover. Absolutely no pee goes in the groover. Then use a powdered chemical when you are taking it down each day. Chlorox II powder works good and is cheep. On rowing trips keep them in a drop bag where they can stay cool and shaded. This goes for all groover types but especially the Johny-Partner. When a Johny-Partner is full that is a lot of mass. If it is dropped on a rock or a corner hits a rock when full the weld might crack, there are two handles, have two people carry it. They are rated at 75 user days, but with no pee they can easily hold 96(We have tested this on several grand trips where the people setting up the groover didn't know it was time to switch tanks.)
If cost is not a problem then my vote is for Johny-Partner, solid base and no tipping, otherwise go with rocket boxes.
