What do You Think

I was wondering peoples opinions on the CR 125 vrs the Jackson Fun I am looking for an all around good riverrunning playboat that wil be stable on river trips (no more than class IV) but allow me to become a better playboater and not hold me back (ie ley me throw loops, I am close in my EZ)
Thanks

loopability KILLS river running ability, at least in the traditional sense of what a river runner is. speed (length) is always sacrificed for an easier loop, your EZ may already be your best bet. on the other hand, if you boat without paddling forward much, you could get in the shortest most rockered out boat and paddle anything and loop it anywhere.

The Fun seems to prove this false. It runs rivers great and people that know the trick can loop it no problem. The high volume ends that help it loop do make it extremely difficult to flatwater cartwheel. Not sure about the CR, but from looking at 'em, I'd venture the Fun can loop bigger. Both will fit your river running criteria.

Uh, people that know loops can loop a Diesel. If you are watching Clay Wright loop a fun series boat, that has absolutely nothing to do with a normal person. If you want a good river runner that plays well then buy a good river runner and a playboat. If you want everything then pony up the bucks and get them.

Christ. Is there nothing better to do than nitpick people's posts? The guy asked about a good playboat that is stable in class IV rivers. He specifically mentioned wanting something that would loop well. The Fun loops pretty easy compared to the EZ he's currently in and runs rivers well. I thought that might be some helpful feedback, but it was probably way uncool to try to be helpful rather than making a lame sarcastic comment. I'm sure Clay Wright can loop your grandmother's 1970s Buick. Good for him.

Thanks for all your help. You know what sucks that only one person actually tried to be helpfull. The rest of you must be fu#*ing pro's right since all you can do is critizie. Since I have started boating almost everyone is all about helping people get better but I guess there are jerks everywhere.
P.S. I'm not trying to get into an argument

Really, not trying to get in an argument? Sounds like thats exactly what you are looking for. You ask for a boat that can do everything, it doesnt exist and never will. If you want the ultimate loop boat thats loose, well it doesnt run rivers well and viceversa. Nobody on the internet can tell you what to do but you can shape your ideas from what you hear. The answer is to demo every boat you can get your hands on and find what you are comfortable with. I bought two boats and I feel like that is the right answer and thats what I told you to do. Look at your question again, you have unrealistic expectations so you get what asked for. Now if you want to river run and do some surfing and start some beginning play moves then that is a realistic request but no.....I want to loop...well buy a project and have fun but quit whinning. Its tiresome.

and KSC have you ever looped a fun? I have never seen it done but I have seen someone loop a Diesel. So does that mean I should tell this guy to buy a Diesel cause it will loop? Is this better? I dont like the fun series, I think the outfitting is cheap and it is very mediocore as a playboat. No sarcasm.
