What Creek Boat

I have recently gotten into paddling only running III+ and the occasional IV still but I was just wanting to paddle some different boats, just to get the feel of something new so im not just used to one type especially if and when I need a new one... Im a small paddler about 120 lbs and around 5'10" i currently paddle a Bliss Stick Mini Mystic... I have heard good things about Prijon 225 creeker, Jefe Chico, Dragorossi i was just wondering if anyone had any opinions or information on any of the boats/companies listed above for my size or other creek boats i should look into or demo?

Those are pretty good choices, but it depends on what you want to paddle. If you want more of a playful river runner, you should check out the Jackson Fun series or the Wave Sport EZG. There are so many options in that range. Also the Wave Sport Diesel or Dagger Mamba. Also the small Nomad, the Crux, or the Hero are great options. As you become a better paddler, boat choices open up. Like I said, it all depends on what you want to paddle. If you don't plan on paddling creeks, then you probably don't need a "creek" boat. There are plenty of river runners and playboats that may be better options for you. Good luck in your search and stay safe! Take advantage of the nearby Chattooga river for all kinds of different classes and just an allaround scenic paddling trip.

The Dagger mamba is a goog cross over boat. better in creeks than a deisel and better in rivers than fully rockered baot.

You should also check out the Solo or Detox from Fluid. The Solo is one of the best creek boat out there and the Detox just as good with its flat hull.

I'd say you're still pretty new to the sport to need a full creeker and I'd recommend a middle of the road boat like the Jackson Hero, Mamba or Diesel. These will allow you to do simple surfing and get you used to chines and edging. That being said, when I got into kayaking I knew right away that all I wanted to do was go creeking and run big drops. I bought a creeker early and never looked back. If that's your case, then I'd recommend a boat with soft chines - they'll be more forgiving to the aspiring creeker. Check out the Jackson Rocker or Villian. Also the Nomad, Jefe and Karnali.

It's pretty easy to compare different models here (CKS| Creeking Kayaks: Pyranha Karnali, Dagger Nomad, Jackson Rocker, & more), plus the customer service is unbeatable.

Pyrhanna makes a couple of really good options as well. The Burn and the Ammo, either one will work well for what you are running.
I am a small paddler as well (5'7 135lbs) and paddled a Jefe before. I found it was too big (this was before they made a Chico) and hard to roll. I now paddle a small Ammo, and love it.
