Werner paddle comparison

Okay, everyone loves the player. what is better about the sidekick? can you get either of these models in 0 feather? does anyone paddle the sherpa or powerhouse?

Powerhouse is da bomb for creeking. It has bigger blades than the player, especially below the shaft, so the initiation of your stroke is quicker and more powerful. Just put the player and powerhouse blades side by side, and you will see the difference. The player is great for playboating, but I have no idea if it comes in a zero offset. I wouldn't use the powerhouse for playboating though.

I did not like the powerhouse at all. I found that it would wobble on a strong power stroke everytime. IMO if you have good technique in your stroke you can get more out of a smaller blade. I now use a 0degree player for everything that I paddle, including creeks and I've never been happier. I will be getting a foam core blade for next season however, to limit the wobble effect even more. But I will still opt for the smaller blade.

As gh stated you can order any offset you want from Werner no problem and I would be surprised if they didn't start offering the zero degree as a standard option soon.

Bring on the Zero degree revolution!

I went 12 degrees. Works great for me. I have the foam core and it is very sweet.
