Wave Sport Fuse Vs. Pyrahna Varun

I am looking to purchase a free runner and need some advice/ general info. on the Wavesport Fuse and the Pyrahna Varun. Of course it is best to demo boats but would like some advice from more advanced paddlers. I did demo the Varun and enjoyed it. felt it was a little unstable, but that's b/c I have only paddled an old dagger redline (River Runner) since i started. Anyway, has anyone paddled these boats and what are your thoughts? Fell in love with surfing when I demoed the Varun, but want a free runner so it can have multiple purposes.

totally biased opinion- dont buy anything before trying a Jackson 4fun :]

Or a LL Freeride, or JK Fun runner.

freeride, fun, fuse, varun

They are all going to be about the same with some minor differences.

The varun looks like it's got the most defined kick rocker, and the rest look like they've got a more gradual rocker. So I'd say the varun will probably be marginally slower, and paddle a bit more like a brick.....

The JK fun is obviously the most popular of this genre of boats. I'd say the 2 "best of the bunch" are the fun and the freeride.

If I were you, I'd just demo all of them, and see what you like the best. They'll all perform fairly similarly, though.

Sorry I am slow to the party, but just went through this same analysis and bought the Fuse. I found the Varun to be a bit more towards the down river side of things, so I was deciding between the Fuse and the Jackson. I pulled the trigger on the Fuse since I would have had to order the Jackson and was too impatient to wait. Personally, the Jackson felt like a better fit right out of the box. I am still dialing in the Wave Sport. From a performance standpoint, I am really happy with it.
