Vision 56 - for a 165 pounder ?

Hola Compadres,

Lurkin for thoughts on ideal weight range for v56. ...finally got in the gym after an 5 year bout with a batch of kids and wondering if the new fightin weight would be better suited to a smaller boat? The specs I see show a huge range fron 150-210 so I'd like to get some buzzard opinions. I'm no rock-star playboater but like the occasional loop, wheel, spin, blunt ...kinda shite (yeah, I'm old).

Thanks all,

chris

I'm 5'8 and 165lbs and have paddled the v56 for 3years now and I have found it to be a tad bit big feeling for strictly park and play at the hole, which is more noticiable as fatigue set in. I can still throw it around in the hole pretty good and have found it to be a great boat for river run play at my weight. If you are into park and play only go smaller if you want something that can run the river and not be pushed around and mysteried all the time the v56 could be a good choice for your size.

My buddy has a v44, and another buddy of mine has a v56. I'm the same weight as you (165lbs 5'9"), and the 56 always seemed a little big. The 44 was awesome, but I have what i'd consider shorter legs. So I fit into it pretty well. May want to sit in the 44, as I know some people same weight and lighter then me that just can't fit in the thing.

The 56 will be a little big but will be workable. The 44 would be too small imo.

I appreciate the thoughts.

Thanks again,
