trailer size..

I have a 16 foot cat with a 72" frame.... It's 5'2" tube center to center... My footprint is about ten feet... Can I run a 6x10 trailer or am I better off with a 7x12,

Aren't there people who say that size doesn't matter?

Regarding the trailer, the bed doesn't need to be any bigger than the footprint of the raft, as long as the trailer lights are visible to drivers following behind.

Its nice if the deck is as wide as the outside of tube to help protect it from branches and similar pokey hazards.

It can hang off the back a bit, but dont let it do so and get soft. I've witnessed close calls on that and heard horror stories of roa'd rash from dragging mr softie off the back.

It's not difficult to put some lateral tubes (chain link fence posts) across the trailer and 2x10's under the tubes to make the width of the trailer match the raft exactly.
