I've used both and the NRS are better. The Aires have plastic buckles while the NRS use metal cams....thats good enough for me...

The plastic buckles on my family's 10+ year old AIRE Lynx are in great shape and still hold plenty of force. I like that the AIRE thigh straps have quick release buckles, which gives a way to get out of a foot entrapment situation.

I've had trouble with my NRS thigh straps slipping, I ended up getting another set from Yakworks? to use in my Lynx II and haven't had a problem since (I now use the NRS straps for the forward paddler in my Lynx II). , My Sotar has nice straps and I've never had issues with them slipping.

If you're planning on rolling the IK, get the NRS straps. The Aire straps will break time and time again with the force from a back-deck type roll.

If you aren't rolling the IK, get the Aire straps. They're super comfortable, easy to get on, and the fact that they break away is an asset should you pin. The designer of the Aire strap told me that they intentionally made a weaker strap to prevent you from getting pinned in the boat. That might have been bullshit, but his point is true, the weaker straps are a bit safer.
