tall paddler + playboat = big problem ??

Hi,

I'm 6.6, 210 lbs, 38'' inseam and size 11 feet, so not much less than gorilla
I want to buy a playbot and I don't know which I fit in. I am thinking about
Wavesport Fuse 64. Is it possible for me to sqeeze in that boat ? Or have
you better proposition for me ?

Greetz from Poland

I would recommend the Jackson Monstar.... Built for people just your size.

I'm 6'6" and fit in the Jackson 4 Fun with room to spare. I also fit in Wavesport Super EZ. There are boats out there, you need to be willing to customize the outfitting a bit.

Good luck!

Luke

Check out the Liquidlogic Biscuit 65. It will be the most comforfortable boat for a guy your size hands down. The guys that design it are as big or bigger than you so they know what your dealing with when it comes to comfort.

I am 6'4", 200 lbs, 33 inseam, and size 14 feet. I had trouble getting in Biscuit 65, but fit great in a Jackson Super Star without shoes, or wearing thin neoprene socks called grip socks. I have room to spare in my Super Star. You might try that, I think you are a little over the weight limit for a monstar, but you could go with that if you can't fit in a Super Star.

The monstar is bigger than the superstar... That being said you really ought to sit in and paddle both of them. The Monstar is a really big boat and the superstar may fit you just right. You would be on the bottom end of the Monstar weight range so it will sit higher out of the water and you will be on the top end of the weight range for the super star so it will of course sit lower in the water.

From Jackson's website.
Super Star -

  • Length: 6'1-1/2"
  • Width: 27"
  • Height: 14-1/2"
  • Volume: 64 gallons
  • Cockpit: 21" x 36"
  • Weight: 36 lbs (SL), 34 (Elite)
  • Target Weight Range: 160-230 lbs.
Mon-Star -

  • Length: 6'4-1/2"
  • Width: 28-1/4"
  • Height: 15"
  • Volume: 72-3/4 gallons
  • Cockpit: 37" x 21-1/2"
  • Weight: 39 lbs (SL), 37 (Elite)
  • Target Weight Range: 210-300 lbs.

Not a chance, LL boats do not fit a 36" inseam and homie's got a 38". I can't fit into any of their "big boats" but thats just me. Fluid or Jackson Mon-star, you'll fit the old '07 superstar (not the classic tho). I've got the new monstar and its a good fit - 6'8" 210lbs.

Good luck, balls deep

Also have a look at the Fluid Nemesis Large, it was made for the giants among us

Fluid Nemesis Large:

Length: 195 cm / 6'5"
Width: 67 cm / 26.25"
Volume: 220 litres / 58 gal
Weight: 16 kg / 35 lbs
Cockpit size: 49x87 cm / 19.25"x34.25"
Paddler weight range: 85-115 kg / 180-250 lbs

www.fluidkayaks.com/wwkayaks/nemesis.html

It has plenty of foot room for tall people with big feet and still performs. Getting ends up in flat water or on waves is not a problem.

In the picture attached is a good friend of mine. He is 6.4", 230 lbs and size 13 foot. He also paddles a Fluid Nemesis Large and I have never heard him complain about pains or lack of space.

That photo is deceiving. Shift your hips and and most big guys can fit into half a boat. You can see that the leg outside of the boat is longer than the hull.

6'8" with size 14 I have only fit into the large Jackson playboats. I would love to find another brand to try out.
