Super Fun, 4 Fun or EZG 60?

I'm 5'11", 200lbs. Intermediate paddler, basically interested in river running (at the level of New River Gorge, Middle Fork Salmon, etc.) with the ability to play along the way.

Been in the Super Fun, haven't tried the 4Fun or the EZG. I liked the super fun for its stability and predictability but it felt a little big for the small amount of play i do.

Whadya guys think?

Thanks

Tim

I am close to the same stats and I like the EZG for what you describe.

At your size, you don't want a Super Fun, you should compare the 4 Fun to the appropriate size EZG. I've paddled a Super Fun for 2 years, and it is a great river runner through class IV, but I weigh 225. At 200 lbs, you would not find it that easy to throw around.

I have not paddled an EZG, but from all accounts, they are top notch. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

If you are looking at a Jackson boat, you might want to wait and buy a 2006 model. The new boat armor outfitting looks to be a pretty significant improvement. CKS should have them in stock this month or very shortly after.

Another other possible contender in this category that may be worth a look is the new Liquid Logic CR series.

No matter which boat you get, add a Jackson Happy Seat. It is a great "fit enhancer" and will help improve your boat control in any boat.

I'm 5'10'' 225ish the Super Fun felt huge to me, and that is after paddling a Dagger Honcho.
EZG 60 easier to throw around, 4 fun lots of fun and stable.
Demo a Kingpin 6.3 too, fairly stable and really playful, it's being pushed to the play/riverrunner pile now that the 88 is here.

Can't wait to check out the LL CR's, look like great boats.

Thanks, everybody.

That was lots of help. I am going to try out an EZG, but I am homing in on the 4 fun. I'll give the LL CR series a look too.

Cheers,

Tim

I'm the same size as you and have tried all three boats. The 4 fun is a great boat. Stable and fun. The Super Fun is defintely too big. I thought the EZG 60 was too big.

The thing that sold me on the 4 Fun is the better plastic.

I'm 180ish and find the 4Fun to be fun and stable. It has a tendency to stern sqirt. The Super fun does too after observing MikeB in his.

You might try the pyranha 7-0 M/L. The boat is a very good river runner and has the abilty to surf big waves like nobodys buisness.
