That's awesome you got yours replaced for free, but did you ever maintain it with Granger's XT or equivalent waterproofing? It's normal for drysuits to get progressively less effective; they just require routine maintenance (I try to do it once a year.)
As far as I'm aware, this is less of an issue with Goretex, but if you want to keep the same drysuit forever, you'll need to recoat that with Granger's XT (or equivalent product) too.
It's NOT expensive and it's NOT hard to do! People all have their favorite methods, but I still maintain that a simple wash and dry (but not too hot) works brilliantly.
Also, I had no problem with my Stohlquist drysuit (bpod) It does occasionally leak some water down my neck and onto my shirt, but I have had the same gasket for 3 years. Most of the time, it never leaks. I might switch to a traditional latex gasket at some point.
