So Shap..

I didn't ask Bill this (and how is he not roasting in the "Bill holds court" photo - was it that cool on the hike in?), but how is it that Colorado rivers are running black, and a Chetco watershed fire has seemingly no effect on the water clarity? Has enough ground cover regrown to stem off the erosion? Was it a lot worse right after the fire?
We've been stealing Bill & Brian's pics for our site and one of the banners here too - you may have noticed!
I always loved the No. Fork Smith too for the same reason.

The photos are awesome too, I wish I could figure out my stupid camera enough to make it take consistent good photos.

agreed it is alot easier (immature) to point the finger at somebody and tell them how much they suck (or there gear) Than to just buck up and be happy for someone and say thats f-ing sweet and I wish I could have done that!!

like this post i'm jealous just glad I got to at least see pics

Haven't been on since last summer. This post was suggested by a friend who I called to touch base with. I was hoping not to see a post from Ihoewimp, but whala...like a roach.

Hey, incredible write up and photos! Professional quality!

This was my back yard growing up. I remember scouting this 25 years ago...walking from when the Chetco could be stopped with your foot all the way to when we spoke about hauling in IK's and floating to Brookings. Good for you guys!

Let's cut to the chase since it's late. A few of us Oregon boys will be packing IK's into the SF Flathead in Montana during the 1st full week of Aug. and kayaking/fly fishing for 6 days. I will be driving from Greeley, CO to Seeley Lake on the 2nd. I would like to split some costs with some cool dudes who need to get away from their desk jobs and catch some 10 minute fish on a hopper while floating over crystal clear water. If you get tired of eating 1 inch thick fillets, there is always fresh grouse, salmon berries, and grizzly bear.

Once again, awesome post!

Then don't check out the Buzz. Better yet, stay out of Montana too.

Eric Yo, I am a southern willamette valley Oregon boy and I think we met back in the early 1990s when I was at OSU. There was a pretty soild crew of creekers around OSU and I think you might have been one of them? I was in a boating lull at that time and was much more into the dirt bag climbing life then.

You must not have been around for some of eric's endearing posts to me, at least one got a thread pulled. He opened up with just enough piss and vinegar, that's all he's ever brought. Not putting up with the hate.
