Shiva has a bit of edge in the rear, jefe is pure displacement.

Plus the shiva has a lot sharper entry so it's very fast and tracks well in the steep stuff... Shiva is a different animal to a lot out there... Paddle it first

The Shiva is sharper and can be turned by going on edge, while the Jefe doesn't really have an edge.

Jefe is a shorter boat with an even shorter water line so it's not particularly fast. Easy boofs and good mank tolerance. Not nearly as strong in big water scenarios.

Team Shiva strikes again!
shiva is sooooo good and stable. I used to paddle burn, then jefe, now shiva. Its the best of all. Still wish i had a large burn for big water, but the shiva is still more advantageous for big water than jefe (holds a line better). Shiva is so stable! i just close my eyes and paddle when I get splashed- so far so good!

Paddled them both, then got a Mamba.

No seriously, mostly depends on how much edge you like a boat to have. Personally, I preferred the Shiva, it was faster and more maneuverable between the two.

I paddled the Jefe for the first half of my season then switched over to the Shiva. BEST decision I have ever made. I love my Shiva. It has all of the positive qualities of the Jefe (ie: it's forgiveness & the way that it resurfaces) but then on top of those its fast, handles well in most all types of water, the plastic is more durable, has just enough edge to get where you want it to, and i swear it has an auto-boof button all you have to do is paddle it to the obstruction and it does the rest. Fatbob is right. TEAM SHIVA ALL THE WAY!!!!

Shiva Review

Ok. I have to chime in here too for Team Shiva. Here's a review on my blog I wrote of the Shiva back just weeks after I first got it in March. I've been intending to write an update to lay out my impressions after padding it for the whole summer, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe this will inspire me! Enjoy!

Please take a look at my Photo Web Gallery.
I also have here some gear reviews (that I might update soon).
