Sanding area after large weld?
A buddy of mine did me a solid and welded a large hole in the bottom of my creek boat. After a couple searches this may be referred to as the "Tom/Christian method" here on the buzz.
My buddy suggested that the only thing that I should do to get it ready for the water is sand it, which makes sense because it is quite rough on the bottom. Should I do this with a little palm sander?
Also, like some suggest, should I throw some bitchuthene on the inside in case it cracks on this large patch. Really, it seems like the patch is stronger and thicker plastic than the surrounding non-patched plastic. It is a Nomad with lots of previous use, just trying to extend it for a little longer. Thanks for suggestions.
