Pyranha Prozone 225

Hey everybody! I just found 2 Prozone 225's for sale. We are going to be trading our recreational yaks for these so it works out perfectly for us. What is the feel on these boats for a beginner? I'm looking to mainly do some river running but also get the basics down so I can improve. Any real experience would be great. We re both about 145 lbs and 5'9.

that sounds like a great boat for a beginner intermediate. It will run rivers and do some play moves (squirts, cartwheels). Don't pay too much for them. I think $200 - $275 a piece is reasonable.

However, folks from the east coast might consider these "new kayaks" as they are still running 15 year old boats constantly.

ok cool, thanks. He is asking $250 each but we are hopefully trading our cheap rec. kayaks straight out.

Don't do it the Prozone is one of the worst boats you can ever think about getting for a beginner. It’s an old line hi end play boat made only to cart wheel. There is no volume in the front or back and has very slicey edges. It is very unforgiving down river paddling and extremely hard to roll.

ooo, really? I talked to him and he said we could trade our boats straight out so it would be no cost for me. My yak only cost $300 so I feel like this is a really good deal. Any other experiences?

Prozones are super aggressive playboats. Cartwheels excellently but that's about it. I wouldn't do the trade if I were you. I'd look for some Inazones or RPM's or really, anything but Prozones.
