Pyranha kayak

Can anyone give me some information on the Pyranha Sub 7 kayak? I'm looking to buy it as a used boat. Thanks!

I paddle an Sub8 and really like it. The S-8 squirts a bit too easy, resulting in fun/scary moments. S7 looks like it has a bit more stern volume, which could help this. Good speed down river relative to a modern play boat, cartwheels well, a bit long to effectively carve on smaller low flow waves. Rolls easy. Super comfortable with a little outfitting. Water bottle holder not worth a shit. I think I paid about $300 for the used S8 in overall good condition.

Good luck!

i've got the seven-0 and love it. it's great for a downriver playboat, and surfs real fast on a breaking wave. the only thing i don't like is the outfitting. i find the backband to be a bit uncomfortable, but that can easily be changed.

the above posts describe the sub-8 and the seven-0, not the actual sub-7, which was the original design circa 2001. I bought a sub-7 w/o paddling it first (actually one flatwater paddle). I had it for 4 yrs, and used it in every type of river except a steep creek. I had a blast, it surfed beautifully, was stable, slicy enough to learn flatwater wheels, and well-balanced. I tended to grind up the edges on rocks, they became very rough and hard on the hands (gloves became almost a necessity). It took a lot of tweaking for it to be comfy. Got a little pinchy during my five days on the Selway. I sold mine last year for $350. Needed room for my beer gut
