I don't know anything about Restop liners, but I do know that plastic bags and kitty litter are strictly prohibited on most rivers in the west. Either of these would plug the drains pipes and/or tangle the Scat Machine. Don't even think about using these on the permitted rivers in Idaho or Oregon, or in the Grand Canyon!
As for the suggestion that you can use Home Depot buckets, don't try that in Grand Canyon either. Plastic buckets of any kind are prohibited for use as toilets in Grand Canyon.
Also, dumping bagged doodoo in garbage cans is illegal in most areas. It is considered a biohazard, and there are laws prohibiting biohazardous materials from being sent to landfills.
Check the regulations regarding your Restop system.
As for you make-it-yourselfers, I can only wish you luck. I'll stick with Eco Safe for Grand Canyon and my old Scat Packers everywhere else.
