I have just got into creeking from being only a play boater for years but i would have to say that the planning hull is good and your play boating skills will help you get out of a hole. The displacement hull helps a lot going thought more stuff and wont catch as easliy. From my experience of running Gore with a liquid logic huck (planning hull) and a Fluid Solo(displacement hull) I would take the the displacement hull anyday over the planning hole it's feels so much better and easier but getting out of hole is a little bit hard.
