Sorry to beat a dead horse but

1. Why would you consider the vittle vaults only semi-dry when they use the same gamma lid?

2. Is it considered a reusable washable system to use a gamma lid/bucket system if you make a second lid with an RV attachment hose - so it's similar to a scat packer? Or do you need a second hole for flushing the water through the bucket?

1. Not quite as sturdy of a container as the buckets. Thinner plastic. Otherwise just a smaller diameter opening and gamma seal lid. I've only used the smaller one for storage in the boat. I haven't given it much rough use to see how it holds up. The buckets have held up very well in many years of use.
2. We don't have a second lid with an RV hose. We either use a scat machine (Idaho & Oregon) or do the RV dump station pour down the drain and rinse method. Not my favorite method, and not for the squeamish, but not that bad really. An RV hose set-up would be nice. That's kind of why I started this thread. To find an alternative when a scat machine isn't available (Utah).

I like the design of the vittles vaults and use them for cat and dog food.
I do a lot of dutch oven cooking on trips.
Thought the medium sized vittles vault would be ideal for charcoal briquettes.
It was and I enjoyed using it for several trips. Then one of my buds flipped the raft for an extended period of time. The vittles vault leaked water big time. Fortunately this was the last night of the trip and with the help of a fire we were able to get a DO going. I wish there was a heavy duty model with a real waterproof lid. The idea is right and the sizes are right. I still use the vittles vault for charcoal but have started putting the briquettes in a zip loc bag. I just count them out and it does save some time and hands stay cleaner on the river. No flips since I started using the zip locs but that is my solution to the leakage.
