Or just run rivers with less people on them so there's nobody around to steal your shit.

I bought a spool of NRS webbing and a bag of their buckles. All of my straps now just say NRS, no length on them. It was an easy way to keep track of my straps at the boathouse with all the thieving, dirtbag raft guides I used to work with.

Also my buckles are all sprayed with fluorescent pink krylon.

Yep.... I think I have acquired a few red buckle straps over the years. Totally by accident of course

Go to the hardware store and pick a odd color of spray paint and spray the buckles, fast , cheap, and easy!

I bought all new straps from Strapworks a few years ago and gave everything it's own colour, raft has red buckles/yellow straps, trailer is red/red, IK's each have thier own color, as well as tarps, and spares in the spare strap bag . Keeps me from getting confused as well as losing them.

Ha ha haha! I guess thats more subtle than spray painting your buddies straps when hes not looking.

I bought a pair of the NRS straps that are color coded by length.
NRS 1" Color Coded Strap at
Got the 12 footers, which are black and yellow. Its so much better than writing "12" (or 9, or 20) on my old blue ones every year, and having to look around for the length mark; I can tell those are 12 footers from 12 feet away They are also noticeably smoother through the buckles; its smoother webbing, so they are cinch up easier.

Stay the hell away from the black and yellow ticking straps! That's what i use to make all of my straps now. It helps my boats are yellow/black

I had these made by strapworks. They are color coded on one side by size and custom labeled on the other side. No one takes my straps anymore and I can easily spot the size I want.
