Hayduke- Good work on that field patch! Looks exactly like a boat we ripped in the Royal Gorge last year (or was it 2008?), down to the location and length of the rips, and even the chicken line! The river is full of coincidences. . .

No, you can't. You have to remove the tape first. The type b tape takes 24 hours to fully cure. If you pick off a corner and then stretch it, the tape it will come off nicely and leave no residue. Then just patch as you normally would.

I wouldn't use it as a permanent patch, I would use just use it to get the boat to the take out. At that point a real patch can be done at home under ideal curing and cleanliness conditions. I wouldn't trust any of my river side patches to be permanent.

Here in New York, we run a lot dam release rivers in the summer that require keeping up with the bubble. You lose the bubble and it's camp where you are until the next bubble comes through. In the spring and fall when the rivers are up naturally, it is usually to cold for for the glue to set up quickly and reliably. The tape allows us to get back on the river in 10 to 20 minutes to stay on the bubble or to beat the early spring sunsets.
