I have the Palm Torrent with the booties and it's sweet. My only complaint is that I can't get it on easily by myself. Keep the zipper well lubed. Get the IR union suit, wool socks, Keen hiking boots (that fit in a creek boat), and a rash guard and you have the Wind River expedition setup.
Get the drysuit booties but be prepared for damp feet with heavy hiking use. Thus the wool to keep your feet warm. With that setup all you need to do self-support multi-day is a dry set of fleece, socks, sleeping bag, tarp, stove, food, camera, huge throw rope, too much safety equipment, extra lighters, extra socks (for the hike-out option), flask, extra camera, and first aid kit.
Doesn't really pertain to the Grand Canyon, but I'm ready for next season. I'm jonesing for float trips, Rio Chama hot springs, unlocking pandora's, getting lost in Wyoming, surfing in jackson hole and hanging out with a bunch of dirtbag kayakers.
