Palm Equipment USA - how the *&^! do you buy Palmstuff

For over one year, I've been trying to purchase a Palm PFD, and still have no luck in getting one.
I wrote the following email to Palm after AlpenGlow failed to ever do anything about placing an order with Palm.

email to: mtiadmin@mtiadventurewear.com
Palm:
I've been trying to purchase a PFD vest from Palm for over one year.
I've been recommended Palm PFDs from a trusted friend and I really want to try one out.

I called my local dealer, AlpenGlow, in Golden Colorado.
I gave the owner of the shop, Niel Jacobs, my VISA #, mailing address and all details.
He said he would soon be placing an order with Palm and that he could get me the Extreme 2 River Vest PFD.
* I've been waiting for six months on that, and have not heard one word back.

Please help me to get hold of a Extreme 2 River Vest PFD or a Rivertec Whitewater PFD

Thanks-

lists an invalid phone number for Palm

what is the correct phone number to use to talk to Palm?

---

Has anyone got a line on HOW to get a PFD from Palm?

Please email or reply to this post if you do have that beta.

Thanks in advance-

there is an administrator on the Boatertalk.com boater's forum with the screen name of Terrell that everyone there seems to refer people looking for palm gear to. Might want to register on the forum and send him a pm.

We're Palm Dealers too.

I didn't think Palm was releasing their PFD's in the US. I think they were going to start in 2006. Until that time I thought they were never US Coast Guard Approved. That's why I didn't think the US wholesaler was bringing them into the states.

The internet is a great way to discover new gear, but it doesn't make the world any smaller. Just because that jacket exsists doesn't mean is available for purchase. The guys at Alpenglow might have known that, but then again Palm isn't alway the easiest place to order from. I've got one customer that have had a drysuit ordered for over a year. They never delivered them last year. Doesn't mean it wasn't ordered. Just means that it can be really tough dealing with companies over seas.

You might want to look at Astral, Stohquist, Lotus, Extra, MTI, Kokatat, or HF. They all make fine rescue jackets. I found the Palm jackets a little bulky, but everyone likes different things. Good Luck.

MTI is the North American Distributor for Palm. Possibly go that route.

Why would you even want to deal with a company that's being so sketch? I understand they may have a great product, but it's nothing superior, and dealing with shit like can't be a good sign. My two cents.

MTI

Well I got all the info there is for right now. MTI is not importing Palm PFD's into the states. There are ZERO in storage at this time. They have other Palm drytops and gear, but no PFD's. The Palm PFD's are not US Coast Guard approved and are not being sold through MTI distributors in the states. If you still wish to owe one, you'll have to most likely purchase it online through one of the UK sites. And, warrenties will have to be handled by the company directly. You'll have to buy from them like they buy from us. Good luck.
