I've been kayaking for over a year now, took some time off due to shoulder surgery in the winter and now I'm back into it, but only cleared to do easy stuff (Class I, maybe II) and slow moving rivers/lakes for now until sometime in Sept.
My question is about blade size. Looking at this paddle
it says that it's designed for "well conditioned paddlers". I'm a very in shape guy and paddle, row and workout regularly. Without bragging, I'd say I'm very strong for my size. However, this doesn't translate to paddling technique, obviously. When they say "well conditioned paddlers", do they mean people with superb technique or someone that is "in good shape"?
This is the only cheapo whitewater paddle that the shops around me have in my size, so it's either this or wait 3 weeks for the Sherpa paddle to come in. 3 weeks is a lot of time to not paddle! However, I'd rather wait the 3 weeks if getting this paddle would be too demanding on my shoulder or "well conditioned" means technique rather than fitness... because I certainly need to work on my technique, but I do have the strength.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
