On-river satellite TV

Anyone try one of these? Marine-capable satellite TV. I think that with a small quiet generator, this would be the bomb for those times in camp when people just get quiet and stare at the fire. You could fill the silence with America's Got Talent, or any other reality show. How much better would actual music videos be than a boom box? Looks like it would fit in a dry box with a small flat screen.

Too soon to start a "People who bring books to read in camp on the river really piss me off" spinoff?

Now that just crossed the line. Generators are not allowed in the canyon, but you could make a sun canopy of solar panels. Best of both worlds quiet to hear Days of Our Lives and it would keep the sun glare off the tv screen. It would make that 20 day trip go by so much faster. Oh it would also give a mounting frame for the surround sound speakers.

I bet that would look great with a projector and an inflatable big screen. Deluxe Outdoor Inflatable Movie Screen, 12 Widescreen? - Just $199 for a 12' screen. Who wants to watch the "Damned River" in Redwall Cavern?

I seriously wonder what's wrong with people and this addiction to television.

If someone can't tear themselves away from the artificial stimulation of crap for even a little while, they shouldn't bother to go outside. Just rot away in the living room watching other people have the real fun.

The Darwinian Lobotimizer , I phones, personal music devices, virtual reality glasses, when back ground noise of airplanes and traffic is not enough to distract you. You go to the river for a reason and that generally is not to watch your favorite TV drivel.
