Old school Lynx identification

Any idea where to find the serial number on this bad boy, trying to find out how old it is? Never seen one like it before.

I bought my Lynx I in the early 90s and it still gets used The serial number is above the drain hole at the end opposite the valves.

Give Aire a call, they were able to identify my 'new to me' Aire Cougar based on the serial number. They were also able to supply spare valve parts.

I had one similar to the picture with the angular bow and stern ends and I bought it in April 1993 or 1994, not sure which now but definitely one of those 2 years. It was the 1st edition Lynx and a great boat.

My mitered corner early 90s lynx has the more modern AIRE with the blue waves logo. Bet that logo alone will get you close to a date.

those look like mint long stem halky roberts valves -- worth their weight in gold.

lovely boat!

edit: whoa! I did not know AIRE stood for Argonaut Inflatable Research & Engineering! cool!!

I checked my boats. They have logos identical to the one in the picture. The serial numbers were on little white strips that are laminated under some clear plastic just above the forward drain hole on the left side of the boat. The serial numbers have faded. One serial number is totally illegible and I can just barely make out AIRE on the other one but no numbers. I took them on a Middle Fork Salmon trip in 1990 so they are at least that old.

I feel like this thing should hang on the wall! But it's still in great shape without a single patch, only problem is the PVC is getting dry and probably don't want to roll it and stay away from the sharp rocks. Kids are going to love it! Thanks everyone for the input. I'll check for the serial number when i get home. Anyone have any recommendations to make the PVC a little more supple?

There is a product called 303 Protectant for that or ask a rafting store or the manufacturer about new products.
