old Mamba vs new

Anyone there still prefers the paddling characteristics of the older version? At 200 lbs I find the new boat, the 8.6, hard to paddle, ie ferrying, rolling, and maintaining a line as compared to my 8.5.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

The new Mamba is a complete redesign from the previous era. The edge profile has changed where you need to be more of a "up front driver" style of boater to really use the full potential of them. The added volume (added width) also can add to the difficulty of making moves if you aren't used to "driving" your boat.
