I'm borrowing another jacket for a friend that might be questionable... it's a Lotus Designs in good condition, but has a small hole in one of the front mesh pocket about the size of a nickel. It's not faded and seems fine otherwise; you can still read the whole label clearly.
Bring a backup or make arrangements with an outfitter to borrow some if you need to. They don't look for reasons to approve, the rangers look for reasons to not that let that life jacket go down river.
Granted we were a group with a lot of guides and wear and tear, but we brought twice as many as we needed and barely had enough during the weeding process.
