Thanks for the input.

I found a near-new diesel 80 for myself.

My son tried a couple of boats for fit and ended up liking the Jackson Hero. Room for his long legs and size 14 feet, but still the right weight range for his 140 pounds. The Kayak Shed in Hood River had a used one for $400 on their web site. We called first, then drove the 75 miles to get there and after we got there, tried it on, drove the car to the loading dock,. We were ready to hand over the cash they told us oops! it was already sold. Crappy thing to do to a kid.

Try the Liquidlogic Remix. Great boat that will take you anywhere. Unbelievable outfitting.
