I used to love saying, "give Texas back to Mexico," and other silly things like that. Then I moved to a foreign country. While we try to get territorial about our particular states, ethnocentrism is much more serious when you're a true foreigner.
What's strange is that, as a stranger, I now believe the world should be without borders. Who has the right to tell me where I can and can't go in this world. Ultimately that, "I was here first attitude," will resign us to all living in little boxes and if you stick your toe out of your box, you're trespassing.
I just think people should have a choice to live where they want. It's not some Texans fault that he was born in Pacos and wants to make a better life for himself.
Just to drive home the point, I'm 5th generation Coloradian. I have no problem with people who appreciate CO wanting to live here. Who can blame them?
