The previous gen Tundras are great trucks that are super comfy and moderately capable. That V8 makes a good noise. On the downside, they are all 6-10 years old at this point and will come with more to maintain than a newer truck. Also, the tow rating is 6500 pounds for most of them.
If you are in the market for a new rig, the Tacoma also has a 6500 lb tow rating, and the double cab long bed configuration is nice. I miss parts of mine (I had a 2009), like the ride, handling and sound system. The used pricing on these is so stupid that you are better off with a new one.
As for comparables, the Nissan is kind of it, but it is coarse and nasty sounding. I wouldn't want to live with one for years.
I also had a Silverado (a 2010) in there and now I run a F250 DC LB (2012), which kind of does everything at the cost of two parking spots.
Not what you were asking about, but I can offer opinions on them if they come into your consideration.
