This is what I mean by personal opinions. I'm no fanboy...but several people in my crew use Five Ten Water tennies and have had them for 4 years of 30-40 days on the water use with no issues.
I haven't talked much with my guide friends about the Rassler, but most of them didn't like the Brewer because of the low top design. There were instances of lost shoes (Sucked off in hydraulics) and a lot of sand/gravel getting down into the shoes. I imagine the Rassler solves this by being more of a high top, but they also said similar things about the Astral shoes not lasting more than a season or two. Shoes just don't hold up to heavy water use, especially when you mix in portage scrambling across rocks, sand, logs etc.
Basically, the only useful advise I have gathered about water shoes is: YMMV. Your Mileage May vary.
