Did you buy one with a throw bag or just the device? If just the device how does it attach to a rope? I'm wondering if it is something that could be stashed in a pin kit and used if called for or if it always has to be on a throwbag.

I only purchased the device. I have a good 70 ft Salamander bag that doesn't leave my side. To attach it to your rope, you simply feed the rope right through the middle stem and tie it off with a double fisherman's knot. Also tie a simple knot on the rope side of the line to keep it from sliding down the line.

History will be kind to me, for I intend to write it.
