Need info

I'm looking for a good book on rafting. Just bought a nice used tributary 14' sb with welded frame, drybox & ice chest. I also have three thwarts but I will probably row for the most part. I would like to run upper & lower Sacramento, Upper Rouge and Trinity. I Have some experience but any help will will be appreciated, thanks!

If you're new to rafting, get yourself a copy of The Complete Whitewater Rafter, by Jeff Bennett. You should be able to pick it up used on Amazon for $5 - $10 or so. Western Whitewater's one of the best guidebooks for rafting runs.

Get Local...

Looks like you are sticking to California and Oregon in which case White Water of the Southern Rockies will probably not help you much (although it is still a bitchin book and worth getting for entertainment and stoke value!)

I would find a copy of the Holbeck and Stanley, California Whitewater guide. It is getting a bit out dated but will still get you to the put in and highlight what you need to know. One of your best resources will be which is a great online resource for California and Oregon. Also (if you haven't already) check out which will help you more locally. Plenty of rafters in the area 1st hand personal beta will be a great asset for you. Good luck!
