I have both the bearclaw and co-pilot. My co-pilot is first generation, so I do notice the play in the sheath and not sure if they fixed it. While there is play, it has never come out unintentionally, just kinda weird it rattles in there.
I will say the co-pilot attaches much better than the bearclaw. It has the plastic clip setup like all my previous knives, takes up the whole space on the attachment point, and has a little lip on the end to prevent it from going back through. I would say go feel one in your hand and see if you like it, I prefer the bearclaw.
Using zip ties through the mounts on the bearclaw (clipped and kinda filed down) on my rescue vest I am now confident it will not go anywhere.
