This may be really obvious but.... Don't forget to have the motor registration with you and a fire extinguisher. We overlooked these things (yes they are on the paper) and were unable to bring our motor. It was a rough paddle out for us! The Ranger was really strict with the regulations so you also need an extra PFD for every 3 kayaks (we had never heard of that before) and he was pretty critical of our first aid kits.

Make sure you have a motor repair kit. One of our two motors failed and our 12 raft barge took till after 11 pm to reach the takeout. But on the plus side the torrential rains made some sweet waterfalls.
