Either a Jackson Villain or a really crappy Dagger Medevil, sometimes the packraft for fun. If you end up buying the Jive and want to sell it at the end of the summer I'd be interested as I'm moving to Oregon.

IMO the Jive is a great boat. No it is not a play boat but a river runner and no it is not a creeker. but is a great surf boat. Edgy so you have to be on your game somewhat. not the most comfortable seat etc. Also very good plastic. this is a good river runner. I have owned both the jive 8.4 and 8.10.

I used to paddle my Jive all the time, I would sell it to you with a skirt for 150. Skirts not the best but it will work especially for this year. I currently live on cap hill but am moving to pagosa springs at the end of the month. It is a great river runner and can surf okay on a good wave. Although you will probally have trouble finding a wave for it this year. I have taken the jive down everything from the ocean surf to class 5. I just don't use it anymore as I have a Habitat 74 and a Jackson Star, as well as a raft. You will never find a boat that does it all. My advice is get a jive and if you find you like kayaking sell it and buy a play boat and creeker. I would however spend the money on a nice paddle, I have been using my werner for over a decade and it is still awesome. The only reason I would sell you the boat is I want it to go to a good home and my wife will probably kill me if I take it to Pagosa with me. let me know.

I owned a Jive and am looking for another. It's great for old style play (enders, piourettes, 360s...) and is a great river runner. You might want to check out the thigh braces and be sure you're comfortable with them. I replaced mine with Dagger thigh braces to improve fit.
