Little Help from the Experts

Hello all~
I am looking to get a kayak for a friend who is 5'9 about 170lb. We are both beginners and are taking a class next spring to learn to roll. We want it for river running a beginner rapids. I have my eye on a wave sport, but the person selling it says it might be too small for him. I want something on the cheaper side since it is his first boat. Any suggestions!?? Thanks all

I learned and still boat a Jackson Fun series (I prefer the 4Fun classic) and liked it for learning and as I progress. Super comfortable fit for me. I am about 5'11, 165
