i actually loved paddling the 59, but - sparing you a long story - i ended up with both. i still use it from time to time on low water stuff. it bums me out to be selling it, but i'm hoping to get a Stomper, and its ridiculous to own both.
speaking of, i'm looking forward to your review of the stomper!
You should know that Whitewater_fishin's 59 is the Limited Edition white with flames- extra saucy, the only downside is that friends splash you whenever possible because they think your boat is on fire...
I agree that it would take a big eddy fence and determination to stern squirt a Remix, I have done it once accidentally in a place that I did not want to be vertical, but it all ended well...
As for similarities between the Remix and RPM, well they both have semi-displacment hulls, and that's where the similarities end. I would say the Dagger Axiom is most like an updated version of the RPM. Where the RPM was Originally designed as a play boat in the late 90's, the Remix's design was always directed toward big water and instructional use. I used to have an RPM in the early 2000's and loved it for stern squirts, it put you up in the nosebleed section. modern design boats don't give you that satisfaction. The flattened stern of the Remix is actually designed to be low profile, like the bow to prevent type writing across big holes and to "melon seed" or squirt out of holes on the back side.
It rules the big water
