Ideally, you want to be in the middle of the weight range. 180lbs is the middle exactly, but if you add a bunch of weight, then 180lbs. is not your weight.
Guess my point was that I weight 185 ish and I bottomed out the Remix 69. Its my belief that the true top end weight range is closer to 185lbs. I do not buy the top end of 220 that LL states.
I understand that Ideally one would want to be right in the middle but at the end of the day - I prefer to be at the low end weight wise of my creekers/riverrunners, at the top end of my playboats, and my seat all the way forward in both. This is a common set up among a lot of kayakers.
