kayak for kid

I am happy to say that my kid finally decided he wants to kayak. He's been riding on the cat with mom and dad his whole life, and its time to leave the pvc nest!

I'm hoping to find a kid friendly boat for about 400 bucks. Can you guys post some makes that I can start looking for that might fall in this price range?
We live In Crested Butte if anyone has any leads on a boat close by.
I found a Dagger Vengeance for sale locally for 300, but it seems like it might be a bit out dated. I'm guessing I can find something around 5 years old for $400

He is 5-8 and 120 lbs and growing like a weed.
thanks, Rob

I searched the subject and found lots of post suggesting the side kick and jackson fun series. My boy is skinny and tall, with big ol' feet.. but still just 120lbs. Will he fit in any of these kids boats? or will he need something geared towards small adults.

I'm a grown-up (I'm told), but I have a Jackson Sidekick and absolutely love it. I'm 5'1 and about 110lbs. I have a ton of room, but he might be a little too tall already for the kid boat. I would give it a try, though. The little hero might be a good fit, but he may have issues with his weight. Feed him more! Just kidding. You might be able to fix that problem by weight adjustments to the boat. He's already too tall for the kid version of the fun. Maybe a 2fun? Harder to learn in, but his weight might not be as much of an issue. Go forth and demo! Hope he likes it!

We've got a 2Fun and werner bent shaft - about 5 years old - in your price range. Might fit him, I'm not sure.. My boy is heading to CB in a couple weeks for a weekend. He could haul it down for a look/fit test. Let me know.

Your best bet is one of these four:
Little Hero
Punk Rocker
Diesel 60 or 65
Burn small

I wouldn't waste your money or his time on anything else.
