I have a set of maxxon tubes that are 16 feet long 22 inch diameter. I have taken them down the MS and the MFS. It's kind of a barge but was a cheap way to get into the sport. The glue has held up just fine.
I am also interested in the Aire Leopard. Avatard and others seem to like it a lot. However, I am a little concerned with the 18 foot length on rivers like the MF during low water.
I like the bigger cats because I always have a passenger or two plus some gear.
I owned a Leopard for years, brought 3 family members in comfort and style on many rivers, including the MF at 2.4 and dropping fast. Great boat and frame for those years with the family.
Of course I've had a couple of other boats during that time for trips that the family wasn't as enthusiastic about.
The frame for the leopard had a t-box with a table fitted over it, another huge drybox that was underneath my DRE seat and two 128 coolers, one underneath two DRE seats in the front with a footbar suspended with t-fittings for their feet, and another behind me--with t-fittings suspending either a Partner Steel toilet, or a motor mount and gas can platform. Think diamond,plate--cause it was like Antwerp.
