The biggest change might be the seat. They moved away from the raised seat and went back to a more conventional height. This will allow more people to fit more comfortable and make the boats easier to roll and paddle down river.
Another trick for you might be to raise the seat in your boat. It would give you more power over your edges and give you more flatwater power. Just a bit harder to roll. The benefit for you would be keeping the volume of the larger boat and more pop.
