I have had a single for about 6 years and its great. Yes heavy but a good deal. In whitewater it drains a bit slow. I also agree if you want to take it in larger rapids thigh straps a worth the money.
I bought a double last year and great boat for multiday trips.

Can anyone comment on the difference between the Tomcat and the Strike?
Thinking tandem, but want to able to paddle it solo. Class III+. Overnight in Gunny Gorge, etc.

Tomcat Good Choice

Last summer we took a tomcat tandum down Deso with 3 girls and it faced the afternoon winds better than the rafts. No problems with bladders, manuvering, big rapids. I would take it out and get use to it first, how to enter an exit, because kids will be in and out of it constantly. Good price if under $600, normally sell for $700+.

We just bought one at Christmas and will do our maiden voyage on Easter. We got it for our Deso trip in June. Glad to hear these good reviews. What paddles do you have for yours those who have one? It will be mostly used for our kids as they grow (currently 9 and 10) and in class II and III.

If you lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known. Winnie the Pooh
