We have carts made with plastic pipe for our touring kayaks. Cheap and break down to stow. I use the cart to get in and out of the water as I can't haul my kayak any distance by myself; have used it for up to half a mile of trail.

I have some large duffle bags I transport my iks in on long trips, I suspect you could do likewise, then use it as a backpack to get to the put in. They are small enough that hand inflating them isn't that troublesome.

Thanks for all the responses. Interestingly, I came across the Sea Eagle IK cart called the EZ cart which is specific for IKs. The product vid shows it being used to transport one of their ww Iks I think. Seems to work OK. Its fairly expensive to buy but the concept seems easy to reproduce.

Age old solution.

2 - 10' sticks procured locally plus 25' of paracord. If no sticks locally, pick some up on the way there.

Ditch the sticks when you get to the river and keep the paracord for next time.

Where and why would you want to keep a cart on an IK ?

Putting a cart in an IK the size of a Tomcat is not a problem. Loads of space behind the seat.
