which one better tracking
I have never used a Puma but I have owned a Super Puma for many years. The S/P and this Trib are completley different with 3.5' difference in length.
I looked long and hard at the Puma before buying this Trib last fall and what I remember is (I have a good memory but it doesn't last long):
-the Puma is approx 11' long but a couple inches wider. The width was key to fitting in my truck.
- the price of a Puma with 0 thwarts (the way I use them) was not much different then the Trib which is available only with one thwart. That said, I would have much rather have purchased the American made Puma which is not only more boat but comes with twice the warranty.
-the Puma would not fit as well in the back if my truck, making the choice easier. The Trib seems like a very high quality boat and I am happy with it but I am speaking from very limited use, none in whitewater. It has been perfect for my needs and I'll probably take it down the Smith in Oct at low water for 5 days.
This thread started about frames for small boats not the boats themselves, didn't mean to hijack. I've never used any of the Hysides and can not make a boat comparison.
