I've tried using a pelican case and watershed bag for my DSLR and I would recommend the watershed. They both work to protect the camera pretty well, but since you'll most likely have it between your legs I think the bag presents less of a potential pin hazard if you need to swim.

Both Work

I've used Pelican or Otter Boxes and currently use a Watershed Ocoee. The bag is just easier to pack either between the legs or behind. The only complaint I've heard about either is that a box can break if impacted on rocks. Other than that, it's all about preference. Have fun!
