How is the Gus on drops and technical creeks?

I live in the southeast and am looking for a boat to paddle on class 4 and 5 steep creeks and on normal big water runs. Can you turn the boat with ease? Does it resurface well from a 20 ft drop?

I am 6 ft tall and weigh just over 200 lbs.

What ya think?

Good boat

Good boat but it has its quirks. It definately has proven it can handle the nastiest drops. It is stable most of the time but this is its character. Handles all class IV-V well except maybe the tightest of draps but people still paddle the gus on these runs. good all round creek boat. It takes technique to like this boat but it teach you to be smooth if you mastered it. Check out the El Jefe it looks sweet and more creek specific. Russell

The boat is fine on anything in the SE. It's the driver not the boat.
