My advice is buy as high a quality as you can afford.

I was in a similar spot and ended up getting a 2007 Super Puma that had been a floor model (never in the water) for about $1000 off retail.

So deals are out there, but you will need to be take your time, I was looking for a boat for 4 months before I found something.

For that matter I would probably buy a Tributary before I bought a Saturn, just my opinion not based on anything except my comfort level with Aire style products.

I am with you though, I think buying a +5 year old boat is a crap shoot unless it is someone you know well and trust. And your Willowa story isn't unique, I have hear lots of the same about glued seams, I hear they are much improved these days, but it still sucks.

You'll also notice homeboy rowing the cat in the glacier river isnt wearing sleeves. Must be cold, also seems a little stange not to have anything in/on the boat.

But..... the most unbelievable part is that the guy is such a great boatman he doesn't have to strap his frame to the tubes.....

2 cents. My favorite part about my 16' hyside is that we can fix the boat. Whether riverside or in the backyard, there is always a solution. Rita kicks ass, having been a GC boat for 10 years... the girl can do it all, and even turn into a slide.

I think that is an image from the upcoming rafting video game produced by the Koreans. I'm sure my kids will love it!

Spent my money on a SOTAR five years ago, still looks like new, would do it again.

Customer service does go a long way. Props to Jack's Plastic in this department! A company who stands behind their products is worth a lot in insurance.
