Help Pricing a Used Boat

Hey, I'm looking to price a used boat. This is it:

Liquidlogic Kayaks Remix XP9 Kayak

I'm wondering if its fair or not. I hate lowballing people but I also want to get the best deal. I've owned one of these before and just loved it. I plan to paddle all winter because I'm either really dumb or really dedicated. Take your pick.

I say dedicated. I see tons of remixs for sale. There is one new at a local shop for 780. So... thats a tought call. Location, location, location i guess. I really feel bad when someone has 1K invested and 850 seems resonable. But the seller is either going to find someone who will pay that price or not. To be honest I wouldn't even respond to that ad. he's just too far out of the ball park for a used boat. Its just tupperware. I'd look for something a little more used in the 5 to 6 range that will last just as long and still kick ass. You probably wont find anything under 5. good luck.

I agree with Idahofloater. It's not a bad deal, but boats depreciate like cars. I bought a "1 season old" Pyranha Fusion this season (a whitewater/rec boat intended for overnighters as well) at CKS for $800. It was in great shape and included a skirt (which I sold for $75) and a cockpit cover...... it had sat through the Paddlefest swap and got dropped in price. So, you may want to look a little more, or try and talk him down $100 or so.

My wife bought me a brand new XP10 as a wedding present at the end of last season -- I know she paid less than that -- end of season sale (not the very latest model) at a local shop. Just sayin'.
